This week, two new books have made it onto the charts: Eighteen Lectures on Classic Cinema (镜与世俗神话:经典电影十八讲) by Dai Jinhua, one of the most influential theorists and literary critics in contemporary China, which is ranked #7 in TV & Film category; and Tang Stories in the Shosoin (正仓院里的唐故事) by Yang Zhishui, which is ranked #10 in Art & Design category.
The travel literature Blood & Honey: A Journey Through the Balkans (血与蜜之地:穿越巴尔干的旅程) by Liu Zichao, a recipient of an honorable mention of the True Story Award, has risen to the first place in Literature.
Two non-fiction works are eye-catching.
Those Who Escaped (逃走的人) by Li Yingdi debuted on the charts in the fourth week of August (8.26-9.2) and has since maintained its presence for an impressive 11 consecutive weeks. It has secured the second spot twice and claimed the top position nine times.
From Three Comes All Things (三生万物), a memoir by renowned Chinese entrepreneur Ning Gaoning, entered the charts in the fourth week of September (9.24-9.30). It has consistently held a spot on the list for seven weeks straight, impressively topping the Business & Economy category for six consecutive weeks.
