About the book
Editor's Note
People of all trades have always used hypnotism. Psychologists use it to treat their patients; advertising companies use it to sell their goods; swindlers use it to trick and cheat people… People with weak wills, people with strong desires, highly defensive people, all can easily fall under a hypnotist's control.
An instant hypnotism carried out on the street can have a passerby dazedly offer all the cash they have. Under more suggestive hypnotism, the victim will obediently go to the bank to withdraw all their savings. And if the passerby meets a wicked hypnotist, the hypnotized person surrenders all will, unaware even if their own life is lost. Once the hypnotist finds the victim's every weakness, every exploitable fear, desire, insecurity—once the hypnotist enters the victim's inner world, the hypnotist has control.
A group of normally elusive hypnotists appears suddenly. In their eyes, all the world's people are sleepwalkers to be controlled. The ensuing fight between them puts everyone's lives in peril. Between these covers, you'll find a struggle between good and evil among hypnotists as you enter a hidden, yet omnipresent secret world.
Synopsis
A pedestrian becomes a jiangshi(zombie) and bites someone else's face. An elderly man living alone imitates a pigeon, stretches out both arms, and jumps to his death. A series of strange events occurs in Longzhou City, sparking concern. A mysterious hypnotist claims to be the orchestrator of the two events and that he will be attending an upcoming meeting of hypnotists in Longzhou. To prevent the murderer from committing any further crimes, criminal police officer Luo Fei works with a hypnotist for the first time to solve the case and comes into contact with the theory of "acupsychology." As he comes to understand this secret technique, he gets a glimpse of the strange circumstances around cases from a dozen years prior.
